2 Edgefield County men arrested for child sex crime related charges
EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men for charges related to child sex crimes.
On March 17, Edgefield County deputies, along with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety, arrested Brandon Kyle Brown, 39.

An execution of a search warrant found evidence of exploitation of a 4-year-old on Brown’s cell phone, according to authorities.
Brown is charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center.
SLED is investigating this case.
The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation.
Warning issued to S.C. parents of violent online gore trend targeting teens
Attorney General Alan Wilson is warning parents of the increasing presence of an online gore trend that is targeting teens.

24-year-old Richard Stevens Jr. was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material (C-SAM).

According to deputies, investigators got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that C-SAM was being ed to an IP address in Edgefield County.
Deputies say they went to Stevens’ address on West Five Notch Road with a search warrant.
Deputies say they found two phones, both of which were used in the crimes, and one had over 100 s of C-SAM.
Officials say Stevens has been convicted for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in 2023.
