Augusta man charged in 2023 rape case of teenager
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Augusta man is accused of raping and molestation a 15-year-old girl in 2023, according to court documents.
Javarius Wynn, 20, was arrested on March 30 by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, according to jail bookings.
On March 30, around 10:27 a.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Tybee Court in reference to a 911 hang-up, according to the incident report.
On scene, deputies say they heard yelling at the garage doorway and tried to approach the door. Wynn then shut the door and attempted to flee from the back door, where he was detained by deputies.
The victim told deputies that they were fine and just in a verbal altercation. The incident report states that the 15-year-old victim and 20-year-old Wynn were having a sexual relationship.
According to the arrest warrants, in January 2023, Wynn engaged in sexual acts with the victim.
According to the inmate bookings, Wynn is being held without bond.
Wynn is charged with statutory rape and aggravated child molestation, according to jail bookings.
