AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Clemson University announced plans to sell alcoholic beverages at designated Aramark concession stands and kiosks during athletic events.

This is not an April Fool’s joke, the university said sales are expected to begin at the 2025 spring football game with limited offerings available at portable kiosks and other vendors within Memorial Stadium.

Sales at McWhorter Stadium and Doug Kingsmore Stadium will be piloted beginning the week of April 7.

Georgia road closures to be suspended during golf week

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced road closure restrictions during gold week.

The following policies will be in effect to maintain a secure process:

  • Only those 21 and older will be served alcohol
  • A valid ID is needed for each transaction
  • Students cannot use Tiger One Cards to purchase alcohol
  • No more than two alcoholic beverages will be served per transaction

Sales will begin when the venue doors open and cut-off times will be posted throughout the venue:

Augusta National Women’s Amateur competitors prepare for first round

The practice round for the sixth Augusta National Women’s Amateur began on Tuesday.

  • Football spring game: service concludes after the third quarter
  • Baseball: after the seventh inning
  • Softball: after the fifth inning
  • Other sports: service concludes at a designated time no later than when 75% of the event’s regulation length is scheduled to be completed
  • Concerts/ special events: service concludes at a reasonable time prior to the anticipated end of the act as determined in consultation with the Act and Clemson University.

Clemson was one of three Power Four schools nationally that neither offered the sale of alcohol nor accepted sponsorship revenue from alcoholic rs, and the only school in the ACC, SEC or Big Ten.
