Man posted videos riding motorcycle at speeds over 190 mph, police say
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – A Connecticut man was arrested after police say he posted videos of himself driving over 190 mph on a motorcycle throughout the state.
Connecticut State Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Brice Bennett.
Police said an anonymous complaint about the driver was made to the governor’s office on Dec. 19, 2024.
Troopers said Bennett’s reckless driving was happening regularly and that he recorded videos from a camera mounted on his helmet. The videos were then posted to social media.
Detectives were able to identify Bennett from the videos.
Police said the videos were labeled on social media as being “filmed in Mexico,” but said it was obvious they were taken in Connecticut. One Instagram video even showed the “Welcome to Hartford” sign.
Investigators said dozens of the clips were ed to YouTube. Others were posted to Instagram.
Troopers said the videos show Bennett driving the motorcycle at speeds over 190 mph.
Bennett was arrested without incident on Tuesday.
He was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
He was released from custody after he posted a $5,000 bond.
Bennett is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.
