AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A string of shootings in Covington, Georgia which left two people dead and another injured, ends in Aiken County.

Aiken County deputies say 24-year-old Dwayne Eduh shot himself when they confronted him just before four this morning on the eastbound lane of Interstate 20 at the Wagener exit.

Aiken County deputies were called in to assist which means this isn’t their case, so they don’t have a lot of information.

They told us they took the suspect to the hospital after he shot himself, but they could not share which hospital.

Traffic whizzes past mile marker 32 along Interstate 20, but around 4 a.m. flashing lights slowed the eastbound lane to a snail’s pace.

This is where law enforcement tells us a violent crime spree 150 miles away from the Wagener exit came to an end.

Three and half hours before Aiken County deputies slowed traffic down with their lights, deputies lit up the outside of a Walmart in Covington, Georgia with their lights.

The Georgia sheriff shared limited details about the call on social media.

At the time of the incident, the store was closed for business, with only employees present inside.

The suspect later encountered a second acquaintance outside of the Walmart, who was shot and transported to a local hospital.

29-year-old Ryan Bradley is in stable condition.

The string of shootings doesn’t end here.

According to the sheriff, the suspect drove to a neighborhood two miles away from the Walmart, broke into a home, and shot a third person: Akeela Clarke.
