Judge makes ruling on 19-year-old Mallory Beach’s case
HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A judge has ruled on several long standing motions in a lawsuit between the family of Mallory Beach and Parker’s Corporation.
Parker’s had filed motions to get the case dismissed and get the Beach family attorneys thrown off the case.
On Friday, a judge denied both of those motions and set a trial date for the case to be heard by a jury.

The survey from Morning Consult revealed that 2 in 3 Georgians are worried tariffs could drive up prices on everyday items.

The Parkers and the Beachs’ came to a $15,000,000 settlement in 2023. However, this is a different case.
Here, the Beach’s are alleging that Parkers intentionally intimidated their family to try and get them to drop the initial case — which again ended up being settled for millions.
Mallory Beach was 19 years old when she died in a boat crash more than six years ago.
Suspect accused in Ga. Walmart shooting, caught in Aiken dies
The man accused of killing two coworkers and injuries another amid a shooting spree at a Newton County Walmart has died, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement says the boat was being driven drunk by Paul Murdaugh - Alex Murdaugh’s since murdered son.
Paul was seen on video illegally buying alcohol from a Parker’s convenience store before the crash.
This case, surrounding the allegations that Parker’s tried to get the Beach’s to drop their other lawsuit, has been tied up in courts for years.
Now though, a trial is set for the week of May 4, 2026.
