Frontier Airlines wheel breaks off, catches fire
(Gray News) – The Federal Aviation istration is investigating a rough landing at a Puerto Rican airport.
After a hard landing on its first attempt, the Frontier Airlines plane coming from Orlando landed safely Tuesday night.
Video shared online by enger Melani González Wharton shows people applauding when the plane finally touched down.
“We are alive by miracle! We just landed in the worst way in the world. What a horrible experience. For a few minutes I thought it was the end of our story here on Earth,” she said on Facebook.
Wharton said one of the front tires of the plane broke off during the landing and then caught on fire.
“It all happened right at my window... Everything we experienced inside this plane is inexplicable. I will never forget this April 16,” Wharton continued.
Officials at Frontier released a statement saying no injuries were reported.
