ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A video went viral during the 2025 NFL Draft showing Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders receiving a prank call from someone pretending to be New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis, falsely telling him he was about to be drafted.

“This is Mickey Loomis here, (general manager) of the Saints. It’s been a long wait, man. We’re gonna take you with our next pick right here, man,” the caller said.

“Yes sir, let’s be legendary,” Sanders said.

“But you’re gonna have to wait a little longer, man. Sorry about that,” the caller said, followed by laughter from those involved.

Turns out, Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son, Jax, was heavily involved in the prank, facilitating Sanders’ phone number to his friends, who then prank called Sanders.

The Falcons released a statement on Sunday.

The video was recorded on Sanders’ YouTube livestream, resulting in it becoming an internet sensation and many sports social media pages posting about it.

Sanders’ number was strictly for NFL general managers.

“Nobody has that number but coaches, strictly for that reason,” Sanders said. “Why get mad? They want you to have a certain type of reaction to it. They want you to feel bad. But I ain’t trippin’.”

Jax Ulbrich apologized via his Instagram story on Sunday.

The NFL said Sunday morning it would investigate the prank call. The Falcons have decided to not punish Ulbrich, according to team sources.

Although projected as a first-round pick, Sanders slipped through the draft as several teams opted for other quarterbacks, ultimately being selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns.

This is a developing story.
