GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -The NFL Draft has concluded, but for those whose names went uncalled, the journey isn’t over. For one Grovetown graduate — it’s just getting started.

Simeon Barrow left the CSRA as a 3-star prospect bound for Michigan State. After three years, the defensive lineman left the BIG 10 and transferred to Miami to play in the ACC.

Barrow went undrafted, until he was signed as a free agent with the Falcons. Giving the former Warrior a chance to earn a roster spot for the hometown team, just two hours away.

Filling a void to a team that needs it, the Falcons released Grady Jarrett at the end of the season. Their defense produced the second fewest sacks in the NFL.

With the Spartans, Barrow totaled 110 tackles, 19 for loss, two forced fumbles, a defended and 10.5 sacks. He posted 30 tackles and five and a half sacks with the Hurricanes in 13 games last season. In his final collegiate season he earned first-team All-ACC honors.
