AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Another Evans High School Knight is off to play baseball at the next level.

Bryant Rushing was a consistent presence in the outfield for Evans in — 20 games this season he had 23 outs off 27 total chances.

A region champion with the Knights, the left fielder didn’t think college athletics was in the cards.

Simeon Barrow left the CSRA as a 3-star prospect bound for Michigan State. After three years, the defensive lineman left the BIG 10 and transferred to Miami to play in the ACC.

So, this season, he played like he never would again.

After he hung up his jersey, Toccoa Falls called him and said they had a spot.

“Just having grit to never give up, just to keep fighting, you know, whether you’re down or up, just keep pushing, keep pushing harder and harder, never give up,” Rushing said. “You don’t want to settle down for something lower, you want to settle for something higher, so that will always stick with me.”
