Rise Augusta presented $25K check at Georgia Reads event
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Super Bowl champion, author and Georgia Reads Coach Malcolm Mitchell spoke at a Rise Augusta event on Wednesday at the Augusta-Richmond County Library.
Rise Augusta is one of 10 recipients of the Georgia Reads Community Award presented by the Georgia Council on Literacy.

“First thing I say is you can’t give up,” said Mitchell. “It’s difficult and it’s not an easy process. It’s delayed gratification that takes time, so don’t give up. The other thing I say is make it relevant to me. It was understanding how reading can help me get where I wanted to be in life that made the biggest change and excited me, and invested me.”
Mitchell has written two books, called The Magician’s Hat and My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World.
