NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A handgun, a knife, drugs and alcohol were found in a student’s cart at North Augusta High School, according to s.

It happened Thursday after officers and s were alerted that a student may have had a handgun in or near their vehicle, parents were told in a letter from the principal.

Upon receiving this report, a prompt investigation was conducted.

During a search of the student’s vehicle, a handgun, a knife, drugs, and alcohol were discovered.

The student was immediately detained by law enforcement and is facing criminal charges, according to Aiken County Public Schools officials.
