Lakeside girls tennis eye return to state
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Lakeside girls tennis is on the hunt for a return trip to state.
Last season they shocked the GHSA, making their first appearance in Rome in more than a decade.
This season the Panthers are returning some key pieces like number one singles player Emme Bull. Bull is the top junior girls tennis player in the CSRA.
The Panthers have already won the round of 32, and the sweet sixteen, sweeping the competition.
Hosting the quarterfinals against Chattahoochee, the doubles while helping their score-didn’t need to count in the end.
The panthers took it in 3, all singles: Bull, Marlea Griffin and Ellie Clemente all contributed.
They’re now headed back to Rome for the final four, with a shot at a state final match next week
