President Trump wants to rename Veterans Day

(CNN) – President Donald Trump said he wants to rename Veterans Day to “Victory Day for World War I.”
Trump posted on social media late Thursday the renaming would be to “start celebrating our victories again.”
He also said he wants to celebrate May 8 as “Victory Day for World War II.”
May 8, 1945, represents the end of the war in Europe, also known as VE Day, but it is not a federal holiday in the United States.
Trump did not say whether he wants May 8 to become a federal holiday like Veterans Day.
