Zelle outage impacting some customers trying to pay rent

(Gray News) – Zelle reported an outage Friday with the money transferring network, impacting many bank customers trying to make payments.

According to DownDetector, a site that allows s to track outages, there is a spike in customers reporting problems starting Friday morning.

“We are aware that certain Zelle s at some financial institutions are not able to use Zelle at this time,” Zelle told CNN in a statement. “We are working diligently with our partners to resolve this matter as soon as we can. Zelle s may see transactions marked as ‘payment pending’ in the meantime.”

According to CNN, Zelle explained the outage involves payments giant Fiserv, which provides services to some banks.

It’s not clear which banks were impacted, but according to DownDetector, it appears that Truist and Navy Federal customers were impacted by the outage.

One customer left a comment saying, “It’s 1:30 in the afternoon and I still can’t access Zelle. I’ve been trying since 6am.”

“I’m getting highly worried, I have rent to pay,” another responded.
