ARC and Aquinas Boys Soccer fall in second round of GHSA Playoffs
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Twenty years since the program’s last state title, ARC’s boys’ soccer team fell just short in round two of the GHSA Playoffs.
After a 30-minute lightning delay paused the game early on, the Musketeers broke the silence against Chastatee with just five minutes left in the first half.
That lead would be short-lived as the War Eagles would go on to tie the game in the second half, ultimately leading to extra time.
Neither team was able to break the tie, which led to penalty kicks to decide a winner over three hours after the game’s original start time of 6:00 p.m.
Figurines being sold at Evans market to deputies
Daniel Designs is at the Evans Towne market this weekend, and they are making figurines of a policemen to commemorate Deputy Sikes and Brown. Proceeds are going to their families.

Chastatee got the final goal needed, ending the Musketeers’ chance of capturing a state title for the first time since 2005.
ARC falls 5-4 to Chastatee in round two.
Just down the road from ARC, the luck of the Irish ran out for Aquinas.
The two-seed Irish took on the four-seed Wesleyan Wolves, but when the playoffs happen, so do upsets.
Aquinas tied the game at one apiece early on, but never found the back of the net from there.
The Wolves took a 4-1 lead into halftime and never looked back.
Aquinas falls 5-1 to Wesleyan in round two.
