ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A day after he went missing, the body of a swimmer was recovered in Lake Oconee on Friday, Greene County deputies said.

Bertram Foster, 54, hadn’t been seen since he tried to swim across a cove near Plantation Point Drive in Reynolds on Thursday.

Greene County deputies and emergency rescue crews, alongside the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, were called to the lake at around 9:40 p.m. They searched for the man from Williamson, Texas, until around 2 a.m. and continued on Friday after a break.
