COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) - An active duty soldier was arrested on federal cocaine distribution charges Wednesday.

According to FBI Denver, Juan Gabriel Orona-Rodriguez is a staff sergeant in the United States Army.

According to the U.S Attorney’s Office, Orona-Rodriguez allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover DEA agent the week of April 21. The complaint also alleges that when investigators obtained a search warrant for his phone, they found text messages between at least September 16, 2024, and April 9, 2025 that showed him buying and selling cocaine.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office also said Orona-Rodriguez appears to hold a leadership role in a security business, Immortal Security LLC, which supplies armed security to “nightclubs,” including the one recently raided in Colorado, where more than 100 migrants were detained.

Officials said about 17 active-duty U.S. Army service were at the club on the night of that law enforcement operation.

Fort Carson officials declined to share Orona-Rodriguez’s military photo.
