AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Applause rang out on Tuesday as 16 graduating seniors at Richmond County schools pledged a commitment to pursue a career in education.

“I want to make an impact on children’s futures and people’s futures in general,” said Damien Burley, a student at the Academy of Richmond County. “Seeing some kids and what they grow up with, I want to be a part of their lives and make their lives better.”

He says it doesn’t matter which grade he teaches; any impact that he’s able to make is all that matters to him.
