Columbia Middle student found with knife on school campus
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A Columbia Middle student was found with a knife on campus on Wednesday, according to school officials.
Officials say there was no threat made against students or staff.
A report was made that a student possibly had the knife, according to officials. Upon investigation, the Columbia County School District Police Department located and secured the blade.
Orangeburg County students graduate college before high school
You probably wouldn’t imagine getting your college degree before getting your high school diploma, but that was the reality for 15 students from the Orangeburg County School District.
The student is being held able according to the code of conduct and the law, school officials say.
“Safety of students and staff is a top priority, and we take incidents such as these extremely seriously and will investigate fully,” said the school in a letter sent to parents.
School officials say suspicious activity should immediately be reported to a teacher, or by ing the Columbia County School District Anonymous Tip Hotline at 706-541-3600.
