MIDLOTHIAN, Texas (Gray News) - A fire station dog was hit and killed by a car, according to the Midlothian Fire Department.

The Midlothian Fire Department said in a Facebook post that their dog, Riggs, went missing on Friday.
On Tuesday, the fire department shared the heartbreaking update that while Riggs was found, he had been hit and killed by a car.
“Riggs was more than just a station dog—he was part of our family. We will miss him deeply,” the fire department wrote in a Facebook post.
The fire department also shared sympathy cards made for them by a fourth-grade class at Bowie Fine Arts Academy.
“Their thoughtful gesture has made a meaningful impact, and we deeply appreciate it,” the fire department said.
