Evans Elementary School student found with knife on campus

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Evans Elementary School student was found with a knife on campus, according to a letter sent to parents by Principal Tonia Ellis on Wednesday.
The student had made threatening comments against another student.
Upon further investigation, school officials found the student with a blade, according to the letter.
Columbia County School District Police immediately secured the blade, and the student faces criminal charges and consequences per the code of conduct, according to the letter.
This is the second time this week that a student in the Columbia County School District has been found with a knife on a campus.
