Finding Solutions: Resourced Augusta’s conference tour connects local givers
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Connecting givers and meeting the needs of our community together, that’s the goal of Resourced Augusta’s conference tour.
It’s an event that connects the givers in our area with resources.
These are schools, non-profits, law enforcement, medical providers and government officials whose job is essentially to assist others.
The resourced conference took to the road this year, partnering with Augusta Transit to allow these groups to tour different locations downtown.
Finding Solutions: Goodwill graduates enter the workforce prepared
On Wednesday, more than 70 students graduated from Goodwill career programs and told us they’re ready for the next big thing.
They stopped at May Park, Augusta Partnership for Children, Gap Ministries and the Hub.
Nearly 40 agencies and non-profits were at these locations talking about their mission, services, and any needs they may have.
Resourced Augusta says this allows people to learn about other resources in the area to better help or guide their own clients.
“I love the excitement about not only learning, but also figuring out how to partner with each other, which is one thing we are doing differently with the tour,” said Angela Bakos, executive director of Resourced Network. “We’re not only asking each of the vendors what resources they provide, but also what they need and what partnerships they’re looking for so maybe we can work more together.”
Bakos says around 200 people ed to take the tour.
Finding Solutions: Local group looks to help men and women get back on their feet
Blount Beginnings is a non-profit created to provide resources to those experiencing homelessness or transitioning from incarceration.

One woman told us it was nice to put a face to the name of the groups she works alongside.
“It’s like you see a group of superheroes,” said Marquetta Thomas, social worker with the Georgia Prevention Institute. “One person can do one thing, but when everybody brings their power together, it impacts not one person, but a whole city.”
