Victim identified in fatal crash on Deans Bridge Road
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has died after a crash on Deans Bridge Road on Thursday, making this the third deadly crash in Augusta this week.
Darrell Walker, 56, died at 7:41 p.m. after being transported to Wellstar MCG, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.
Bowen says the crash happened on Deans Bridge Road at Dover Street on Thursday morning at 7:06 a.m.
Walker was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
58-year-old man killed in 2nd deadly Augusta crash in less than 3 days
A collision that left a 58-year-old man dead on Mike Padgett Highway makes the second deadly crash in Augusta this week.
Richmond County deputies say they’re investigating the two-vehicle crash on Thursday.
The sheriff’s office advised drivers in the area to take alternate routes.
This comes one day after 58-year-old Andrew Mark Pregel IV, of Augusta, was killed in a crash on the 3700 block of Mike Padgett Highway.
Also this week, 8-year-old Camden Poole was killed in a crash on Peach Orchard and Tobacco roads on Monday.
