19-year-old found dead after he called 911 saying he drove into water
YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) – A 19-year-old man was found dead after officials said he drove his car into a Mississippi lake and called 911 for help in the middle of the night.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, the Yazoo County 911 dispatch received a call from a driver saying that he had run off into Lake George.
Officials said the location was remote and the driver was only able to give a vague description of where he was.
Yazoo County volunteer firefighters were dispatched along with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials found the car several minutes later in the lake near Satartia Road and 15 Mile Road. However, the driver was no longer inside.
Divers began a search of the area around the car, but the driver’s body wasn’t found until approximately 8 a.m.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers identified the driver as 19-year-old Kyeternity Moore of Rolling Fork, Mississippi.
The investigation is ongoing.
