Gov. Kemp signs legislation to strengthen Georgia’s workforce

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A week after declining a run for U.S. Senate, Gov. Brian Kemp is back under the gold dome to sign legislation his office says will bring top talent to the state.

The two-term Georgia governor is riding a legislative wave in recent weeks.

Last week, Kemp cemented Georgia’s largest income tax cut in history, a measure his office says will deliver more than $1 billion in tax cuts and relief.

On Monday, the United States Justice Department announced the results of “Operation Restore Justice,” a child sex abuse operation.

He also signed several bills designed to improve and invest in modernizing public safety. Another bill turned into law provides relief to Georgians impacted by Hurricane Helene. Kemp also authorized legislation banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender inmates and a separate bill making it illegal to sell pets in public spaces.

On Monday, the governor delivered remarks on the steps of Georgia’s State Capitol before g a set of bills focused on strengthening Georgia’s workforce.
