American Hero Pro Rodeo donates $27,000 to charity
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - There’s good news out of the Grovetown City Council.
The proceeds from the America Hero Pro Rodeo went to three charities.
“Council after everything was said and done, we raised a total of $29,000,” one of the organizers for the event said during the meeting.
The $29,000 benefited Concerned Women Incorporated of Grovetown, Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry of Harlem, and Bright Eyes Veterans Housing Initiative of Augusta.
Thunder Over Evans is back
The annual show honoring the military community is on Saturday.

$17,000 went to Bright Eyes Veterans Housing, while the other $6,000 went to Concerned Women, and Fishes and Loaves.
The two-night rodeo took place April 18 and 19.
At the meeting we heard from the rodeo coordinators about their feelings before presenting the check.
“These are American Heroes out here giving time their own money working their tails off begging because it’s hard to raise money and they are not pocketing it they are giving it back to the community,” Al Reeves said. “The Good Lord has blessed them, and they are being a blessing to others.”
The organizers said as long as they are hosting the tournament — they hope to be able to donate to the community.
