GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - There’s good news out of the Aiken County Public School District.
A 17-year-old student was recognized for getting a perfect score on the ACT.
Midland Valley High School senior Jonathan Dixon was recognized for his perfect 36 score.
He is among the top .2% of students in the nation with the score.
Aiken still has no plans for Fairfield Street Bridge
Community spoke out against the plans, stating that the bridge holds landmark status.

Dixon will be a first-generation college student studying mathematics at the University of South Carolina.
We heard more about Dixon’s accomplishments at the school board meeting.
“He has been accepted to 85 colleges and has been offered $4.6 million in scholarships and financial aid,” Merry Glenne Piccolino, the Aiken County Public School District Director of Communications, said. “He’s a 2025 early graduate of the Palmetto Fellows scholarship and scored a 1540 on the SAT.”
He’s also a self-taught musician, fluent in multiple languages, and his family and school staff were able to him at the meeting.
