Checking in on the new Columbia County hospital, and its progress
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Wellstar’s new Columbia County hospital is about 70% complete, News 12 learned Thursday.
The hospital just outside Grovetown is on track to open by fall 2026, and will bring hundreds of jobs to Columbia County.
Chase Bank opens Augusta branch as it enters CSRA market
Chase Bank on Thursday celebrated the opening of its first retail branch in Augusta at Washington Road and Alexander Drive in front of the Kroger.
There are 500 construction on site right now. They are working day in and day out to get everything up. Almost all of the windows are in, and brickwork on the building has started.
With things moving so quickly, some physician jobs have already opened up, and more will become available throughout the year.
The medical staff will be different from the one at Wellstar MCG hospital in Augusta.
Some Ga. small businesses remain uncertain despite China tariff deal
The whiplash continues for Georgia small businesses dealing with federal tariffs, especially for companies that source goods from China.
The new hospital will be a Level 2 trauma center, bringing a level of emergency care to Columbia County that the community had previously lacked.
