Man arrested in crash that killed 50-year-old after Hurricane Helene
WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been arrested in relation to a fatal crash that occurred during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, according to Georgia State Patrol.
The victim is listed in the incident report as Jalina Quick Curtis, 50, of Sardis.

According to the incident report, on Sept. 28, 2024, the day after Hurricane Helene swept through the CSRA, the suspect was operating a semi tractor-trailer and was traveling south on US 25 in Burke County.
Due to Hurricane Helene, the traffic lights were not operational at the intersection, according to state troopers.
As Curtis drove through the intersection, the suspects car failed to stop and traveled through the intersection, where it struck Curtis’s driver’s side door with its front end.
