Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting death of 30-year-old man

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced investigators are seeking information in the deadly shooting of a 30-year-old Orangeburg man.

Ravenell said Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators were called to an Old Elloree Road residence where the victim was located.

Residents on that road notified law enforcement around 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, after the victim had knocked on their door for help.

Investigators believe the shooting may have occurred at a different location and that the victim drove to the scene in an attempt to seek help.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

“We’re looking for information to bring his murderer to justice,” said Ravenell.
