Shooter hits no one but ends up dead minutes later in Warrenton

WARRENTON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man ended up dead after firing gunshots that didn’t hit anyone in a Warrenton convenience store, according to authorities.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been brought in to investigate the case at the request of the Warrenton Police Department.

On Wednesday, Randall Boyd, 35, of Warrenton, entered the Jet Convenience Store on Main Street and shot at a woman, officials say.

Several other people were in the store, but no one was injured, officials say.

After Boyd left the store, his truck went off the roadway on Legion Drive and crashed into some woods.

He was found in the car with an apparent gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
