Students taken to hospital after kindergartner brought Jell-O shots to class, school district says
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (Gray News) – A kindergartner at an elementary school in Pennsylvania brought Jell-O shots to class and gave them to three other students, according to the school district.
The Greater Johnstown School District said the incident happened at Johnstown Elementary School on Wednesday.
The district said as soon as staff caught on to the situation, immediate action was taken.
The students who ate the Jell-O shots were checked out by the school nurse. Out of an abundance of caution, the students were then taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The district said parents were notified and met their children at the hospital.
Officials are working to figure out how the kindergarten student got the Jell-O shots in the first place.
Superintendent Dr. Amy D. Arcurio said the district will not be sharing further information due to student privacy laws.
