25-year-old bicyclist dies after traffic accident in Wagener
WAGENER, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A bicyclist died after a collision with a pickup in Wagener, Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said Friday.
The accident happened at 7:48 p.m. Thursday on Wagener Trail Road at Wagener Road (Highway 302) in the town limits of Wagener.

The City of Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to a “serious traffic collision” on Whiskey Road on Friday morning.
Cheryl Haynes, 25, was riding an electric bicycle on Wagener Trail Road “when she disregarded a stop sign at the intersection” and was struck by a 2020 Dodge Ram truck, Ables said in a statement.
Aiken County emergency medical crews took Haynes to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m. from blunt-force injuries.
Crash on Old Jackson Highway results in vehicle fire
A traffic stop turned into a vehicle fire on Old Jackson Highway after the suspect drove away from Aiken County deputies.
Ables’ office and the Wagener Police Department are continuing with the investigation.
A toxicology analysis is pending, Ables said.
