Motorcycle crash shuts down stretch of Whiskey Road for nearly 3 hours
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The City of Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to a “serious traffic collision” on Whiskey Road on Friday morning.
The crash occurred on Whiskey Road at Chukker Creek Road just after 3:30 a.m., according to officials.
The department says that Whiskey Road between Citadel Drive and Chukker Creek Road has been closed as a result. Authorities ask that you avoid the area during this time.
We’re told a motorcycle was involved in the crash and that there are serious injuries.
As of 6:20 a.m., Whiskey Road was back open to normal traffic according to officials.
Crash on Old Jackson Highway results in vehicle fire
A traffic stop turned into a vehicle fire on Old Jackson Highway after the suspect drove away from Aiken County deputies.
Our crews say they saw a motorcycle being towed away from the scene.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call at 3:33 a.m. to provide EMS.
Officials say they are still investigating.
