White House touts Mideast trip success
Stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The President has wrapped up his first major foreign trip, with stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The White House is touting the success of the President’s 4-day trip to the Mideast.
President Trump will be in Washington this weekend after a four-day trip to the Mideast that was marked by a number of foreign policy and economic achievements. The latest is a proposal to Iran to seal a new nuclear deal.
On Air Force One, President Trump acknowledged that his istration has pitched a nuclear proposal to their Iranian counterparts.
Reporter: “On Iran, has the US given them a formal proposal? Has Steve Witkoff handed that over?
Trump: “They have a proposal, but more importantly, they know they have to move quickly or something bad, something bad is going to happen.”
Iran says it’s open to concessions, but insists on continuing uranium enrichment. In Doha, Qatar, the President said that the two sides are in his words “close to maybe doing a deal.”
During the Presidents four-day Mideast trip, the President announced a commitment from Saudi Arabia to invest $600 billion in the U.S.; a partnership with the United Arab Emirates to build an AI data center in Abu Dhabi and a deal with Qatar Airways to buy 160 U.S.-made Boeing planes.
