Ronald Acuña Jr. hits massive 420-foot homer in Stripers’ 5-3 loss to Charlotte Knights
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Ronald Acuña Jr. looked like his old self Saturday night, hitting a 420-foot solo home run in the 4th inning of the Gwinnett Stripers’ game against the Charlotte Knights.
It wasn’t enough; the Stripers to the Knights 5-3.
Acuña hit the home run in the 3rd inning off of Knights starter Tyler Schweitzer. It was one of two at-bats Acuña had in the game. The Knights mostly gave Acuña a wide berth, walking him four times.
The Stripers also scored in the first when James McCann brought Acuña home and in the ninth after Knights pitcher Nick Nastrini walked in Acuña.
Stripers starter Ian Anderson gave up two runs on two hits and struck out eight in four innings.
