ATHENS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team has been one of the best in the country in 2025 and its head coach is being rewarded.

Head coach Wes Johnson has been extended through 2031, the school announced Wednesday.

Johnson ed the team last year after spending 2023 as the pitching coach for the LSU Tigers. He immediately led the Bulldogs to their first super regional since 2008.

The Dawgs continued that momentum this year, even after losing Golden Spikes winner and No. 3 overall pick Charlie Condon. The Bulldogs went 42-14, finishing fifth in a stacked SEC and 10th in the D1Baseball national rankings.

The Bulldogs begin SEC tournament play Wednesday against Oklahoma.
