TENNILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We are learning more about a car crash that left one person dead in Washington County on Tuesday.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the area of the 3000 block of Hartsford Road.

Georgia State Patrol says it responded to a single-car crash in the area on Tuesday.

Troopers say their investigation showed that a Ford F-450 traveling northbound on Hartsford Road failed to maintain its lane and traveled onto the west shoulder, striking a tree.

The vehicle overturned and became fully engulfed in fire, according to troopers.

Investigators say the driver was partially ejected and succumbed to the fire.

Emergency medical crews and rescue personnel also responded to the scene.
