Doctors Hospital hosts lunch for EMS workers during their appreciation week
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Each year, Doctors Hospital recognizes those who are first on the scene helping people during emergencies.
On Thursday, Doctors Hospital hosted a special EMS Appreciation Week lunch in the Doctors Hospital employee courtyard.

The hospital says it’s thankful for their dedication and sacrifice year-round to helping others in the community.
“We consider our EMTs and paramedics to be heroes,” said Gary Coker, Central EMS president. “Some days they go and it’s mundane, but then the next day it’s something they have to do that’s really heroic. We are appreciative of them and we are glad to see the hospital come and take them in, give them a party to eat and recognize what they do.”
This year’s theme for National EMS Week is “We Care for Everyone.”
