GDOT seeking input on proposed roundabout in Columbia County

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Georgia Department of Transportation needs your help weighing in on a proposed construction project to help improve safety on Old Wrightsboro Road and Newmantown Road.

The project would close Newmantown Road at Robinson Avenue to prevent poor sight distance.

With the CSRA still recovering from Helene, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric istration predicts an above-average 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

It would also improve the intersection of Old Wrightsboro Road, Robinson Avenue and Hardy Drive.

GDOT says they plan to add a roundabout in the area.

You can weigh in on proposed plans at a meeting on June 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the City of Grovetown town hall.
