28-year-old killed, another injured in shooting at Augusta apartments
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person has died and another was injured in a shooting at the MacArthur Park Apartments in Augusta on Thursday night.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says 28-year-old Kameron Mason was killed in the shooting.
Richmond County deputies responded to the apartment complex, located at 110 Integrity Drive, around 10:28 p.m. Thursday in reference to a shooting.
Deputies say they found two subjects with gunshot wounds while on scene.
The coroner’s office says Mason was shot at least one time and pronounced dead on scene at 11:36 p.m.
An autopsy for Mason has been scheduled.
The second victim was transported Wellstar for treatment, according to deputies.
Investigators are still in the early stages of the investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
Man sought for questioning in deadly Lumpkin Road shooting
One person is wanted for questioning in connection to a deadly shooting on Lumpkin Road, according to authorities.

This is the second deadly shooting in Augusta this week.
On Wednesday, Jaquavious Watkins was killed in a shooting on Lumpkin Road. He was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m. at Wellstar, according to the coroner.
Also this week, a body was found in a shallow grave near the 15th Street bridge near Riverwatch Parkway on Tuesday.
Across the river in Warrenville, 53-year-old Cherie Hewitt was killed in a shooting on Whaley Street on Monday.
The deaths come amid a surge in violent crime that’s claimed about 200 lives across the CSRA in the past three years.
Communities large and small have been affected, but as the largest city in the region, Augusta has been hit especially hard.
