Allendale County moving graduation exercises indoors due to threats
ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Due to the numerous rumors of threats regarding graduation, Allendale County has decided, in collaboration with the Allendale County Sheriff Department, to move their 2025 commencement exercises indoors, according to a letter sent to families.
Graduation is still being held on May 30 at 7:00 p.m., but it will now be in the Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School Gymnasium, according to the letter.
The letter says No bags will be allowed in the event. No flowers, balloons or noise-making devices will be allowed.
28-year-old killed, another injured in shooting at Augusta apartments
One person has died and another was injured in a shooting at the MacArthur Park Apartments in Augusta on Thursday night.

They will use metal detectors and scan wands for entry, according to the letter.
All guests will enter through the front entrance of the Elementary School. If you leave the school, no reentry will be allowed.
“Unfortunately, this is our only location to use as the high school is under massive renovation. While we realize this is an inconvenience, we must make safety for all a priority,” said Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave in the letter.
Richmond County Marshal’s Office employee fired after misconduct investigation
A Richmond County Marshal’s Office employee has been terminated after an investigation into misconduct, the agency says.

The limit will be six guests per family. Each graduate will receive four gym tickets and two overflow room tickets, the letter says.
The ceremony will be live-streamed by a professional media company on the Allendale County YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
The Allendale community is still mourning the death of 17-year-old Andrey Gadson Jr., a senior at Allendale-Fairfax High School, who was shot to death on May 19.
FBI has been ‘conducting law enforcement activities’ at Augusta city offices
The FBI confirms that it’s been at the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building this week. However, the agency is not saying exactly what it's investigating.
