28-year-old killed, another injured in shooting at Augusta apartments
One person has died and another was injured in a shooting at the MacArthur Park Apartments in Augusta on Thursday night.

We talked with one South Aiken High School graduate who says the feeling was bittersweet.
“It was just like me out there in that hallway, I see me in them. And now in what five, seven years it’s gonna be them looking at another generation like I am. So it’s like a generation ing on to a generation,” said Ashton Butler, South Aiken High School graduate.
Richmond County Marshal’s Office employee fired after misconduct investigation
A Richmond County Marshal’s Office employee has been terminated after an investigation into misconduct, the agency says.

Butler says his advice to students is to keep pushing even when school gets hard.
I know it can be discouraging sometimes, you feel like you can’t get through the world or at least school, when the teachers feel like they’re on you, the reason they’re so hard on you is because they want you to succeed, even if it’s a tough love thing, they see a lot in you that you don’t see in yourself. So keep pushing,” said Butler.
Butler says the senior walk was bittersweet, but says it feels like ing the torch to the next generation.
FBI has been ‘conducting law enforcement activities’ at Augusta city offices
The FBI confirms that it’s been at the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building this week. However, the agency is not saying exactly what it's investigating.

“We have them at an early age, we have the foundation, and then we send them off in fifth grade and hope for the best because we’ve given them everything we can, and we hope we prepared them the best way possible. Then, when they come back, it’s like the finished product, and it reaffirms us on why we do what we do. It becomes very emotional for us as well,” said Jacque Osteen, Millbrook Elementary principal.
