GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Midland Valley is still getting used to the new turf. Brent Dorn put the final touches on his first spring camp as the official head coach.

Dorn previously served as interim last season.

The valley went five and six, exiting in the first round of the playoffs.

Last season was as much of a learning curve for Dorn as it was for the players, especially those stepping into starting positions coming this fall.

Yeah, there’s definitely been a lot of growth. Started to put a lot more on Cam Gleaton’s plate, our sophomore tight end, letting him do a little bit more moving around. But just to see the growth of some of them young guys from getting snaps last year to where they’re at now, so it’s pretty exciting for them, definitely feel good now that it’s mine. I don’t have to think about anything else. So, yeah, it feels good to be mine. Now I can do what I want to do with this program and take it where I think it needs to go,” said Brent Dorn, Midland Valley head coach.
