Former Gamecocks RB Marcus Lattimore to release new book
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Former South Carolina Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore will be releasing a memoir on June 24.
The new book, “Scream My Name,” is described in a synopsis as “how one of South Carolina’s most prominent names in athletics found his true self and transformed his life.”
During his time at South Carolina, Lattimore became one of the most prominent running backs in program history. He was named the NCAA Freshman of the Year and headlined the All-Freshman Team in 2010. He was also first-team All-SEC in 2010 and second-team All-SEC in 2011.

Lattimore suffered a major injury in 2012 where he dislocated his right knee, tore every ligament and also developed nerve damage. Despite this, he was picked by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 NFL draft where he played before retiring the following year.
The book’s synopsis later states readers will get “a never-before-seen look at the transformation that occurred within Marcus that took him from a glittering athlete to a fully realized person who found meaning and fulfillment in his life outside of fame.”
Pre-orders are now available for the book via multiple outlets, including Amazon, Bookshop, Books-A-Million and Barnes and Noble.
