It was an emergency that one mother never thought she would go through.

A baby's life was in jeopardy after being born at just 28 weeks old.

The officer’s leg was hurt, and he was taken to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.

Police say that no one else is hurt, and the accidental shooting is under investigation.

“We are grateful for the quick response of medical personnel and assisting agencies,” the agency said.

The agency added it will provide updates “as appropriate.”
