Edgefield County deputies mourn dispatcher killed in crash
EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office shared on social media that one of its dispatchers died Monday.
Ada Duncan was going to work early Monday morning when she was involved in an accident.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 6 a.m. Monday near Rivenbark Court.

The Horry County Sheriff’s Office is giving an update on a Sunday night shooting that left nearly a dozen people hurt.

According to troopers, a 2012 Cadillac SUV was traveling west on Youngblood Road when it traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The Edgefield County Coroner’s Office says Duncan was pronounced dead at 7:25 a.m. at Wellstar due to her injuries.
The sheriff’s office says Duncan was a beloved part of the department and she loved her career.
“She loved her career and especially loved helping her community. She was truly the calm voice on the other end of the radio and did her best every day to keep the citizens and first responders of Edgefield County safe,” said the sheriff’s office in a statement on Facebook.
The crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Last week, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety ed the National Highway Traffic Safety istration’s campaign, emphasizing wearing a seat belt leading into Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is the start of the “100 Deadly Days of Summer” travel season, ending Labor Day weekend, the busiest travel period of the year.
