Victim identified in fatal Washington County crash

At least one person is dead after a car crash in Washington County on Tuesday, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

TENNILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We now know the name of a victim who died in a car crash in Washington County last week.

The victim has been identified as Thomas Frady, 57, of Wrightsville, according to the Washington County Coroner’s Office.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the crash occurred on May 20, around 1:45 p.m. in the area of the 3000 block of Hartsford Road.

Georgia State Patrol says it responded to a single-car crash in the area on Tuesday.

Troopers say their investigation showed that a Ford F-450 traveling northbound on Hartsford Road failed to maintain its lane and traveled onto the west shoulder, striking a tree.

The vehicle overturned and became fully engulfed in fire, according to troopers.

Investigators say the driver was partially ejected and succumbed to the fire.

Emergency medical crews and rescue personnel also responded to the scene.
