Westminster wins GIAA 3A state boys soccer title
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The end of the GIAA soccer state playoffs is here.
Westminster won with a final score of 5-1.
This was the fourth straight championship the Wildcats have been in and marks the 13th title in school history.
Two unanswered goals in the second half put Westminster on top 5 to 1 over Brookwood to bring home their second-ever three-peat.
Sophomore Ethan Johnson with the hat-trick.
He’s going home to Augusta with two crowns.
Coach Shawn Brower earned his career 8th state championship, bringing home Westminster’s lucky number 13.
The Wildcats allowed only one goal through the playoffs.
The wildcats ended their playoff run outscoring opponents 23-1, with a 17 and 2 overall record this season.
